A private tropical world, shaped through millwork and shade.
The brief explores a private family villa centered on one mature tree, with the courtyard serving as orientation, artwork and a source of filtered natural light.

What the design needed to resolve.
The spatial challenge
Circulation needed to orbit the planted center while maintaining privacy between social and bedroom zones and allowing furniture to engage the view without obstructing passage.
What changed
The courtyard becomes the home’s organizing room. Openings, furniture axes and lighting are aligned to it, while pale oak storage walls guide movement and conceal domestic functions.
Custom decisions
BN2 conceived continuous cabinetry for the kitchen, media room and private suites, along with stone ledges, integrated display niches and bronze-framed transitions around the courtyard.
Material logic
Selected for character, light and use.
Pale oak reflects filtered light into the deep plan. Honed limestone carries from inside to protected exterior zones, lime plaster gives depth to walls, and cognac leather adds a measured note of warmth.

Coordination
What BN2 brings together.
The study connects space planning, courtyard views, millwork, stone modules, lighting, furniture clearances and landscape-facing thresholds. In execution, these relationships would be coordinated with architecture and landscape disciplines.

The result
The mature tree is visible at key points without becoming repetitive, circulation is intuitive, and the house gains a sense of retreat from a single clear spatial idea.
